Website Help

How does team messaging work?

When you post a team message, it appears on the team dashboard and everyone on the roster receives it by email. An email reply goes only to the person who sent the message. To reply to the entire team, post a new message on the team dashboard. Only team members can view these messages.

How do I find my team dashboard?

Visit the Teams page, find your division, and select your team name. You can also open your personal dashboard and select your team name there.

Where can I find my schedule and standings?

After the schedule is published, you can view it from your personal dashboard or team dashboard. Standings are available from the team and division dashboards.

Free Agents & New Players

What is a free agent?

A free agent is usually a new league member or a returning player looking for a new team. Players returning to the same team should register as a Team Player for that team.

How do I know which teams need players?

Managers can browse and contact registered free agents. During January and early February, managers may still be rebuilding returning rosters, so the displayed roster size may not accurately show a team's needs. After the registration deadline, team dashboards show the number of players on each roster.

How does a manager add a free agent to a roster?

Go to Division Dashboard > Players, filter the list by Free Agent, and select Invite to Team next to the player's name. Do not use the email invitation process intended for returning players. If the button is missing, confirm that you are logged in with manager access.

What happens if I do not find a team?

We try to help every free agent find a team, but placement cannot be guaranteed. Free-agent registration is free, and players are invoiced after being added to a roster. If you are not placed, consider Fall Ball in September or register again for the next spring season.

What if I am unsure which division to join?

Complete the Free Agent Inquiry form with information about your experience and skills. The league can help guide you toward the most appropriate division.

What if I choose the wrong division?

No problem. Email webmaster@sfgsl.org, and we can move your profile to another free-agent pool.

How will managers contact me?

Managers can browse free agents registered in their division, review your About Me profile, and message you through the website. The message is sent to the email address used for registration. Your email remains private unless you respond to the manager.

Does the Board send managers a separate list of new players?

No. Managers can now browse free agents as soon as they register and contact them directly through the website, creating a more transparent and timely process.

Player Ratings

How does a player transfer after being rated out of a division?

The current manager must release the player through the Add/Drop form. The player will receive an email notification and return to the free-agent pool. The player may then contact another manager, or a manager may send an invitation.

Add/Drop & Team Transfers

How does a player transfer before the Add/Drop deadline?

The current manager must release the player through the Add/Drop form. After receiving the release notification and returning to the free-agent pool, the player can contact a new manager or accept a manager's invitation.

If a paid player leaves, can the team add another player for free?

No. Player fees are non-transferable and remain with the individual player if they join another team.

Does a player's fee follow them when they switch teams?

Yes. The player fee stays with the player.

How will I know that I was released from a team?

You will receive an email notification after the manager completes your release.

Fall Ball

Does my Fall Ball fee carry over to the spring season?

No. The Fall Ball player fee does not carry over to the spring season. However, players who participated in the spring season may receive a Fall Ball discount during the same calendar year.

Registration & Payments

What if I have trouble registering?

Email webmaster@sfgsl.org with a description of the issue so we can help troubleshoot it.

Do I need to use Facebook to create an account?

No. A Facebook account is not required. If a Facebook sign-in option is available and you choose to use it, you remain in control of any information shared or posted.

What if I cannot pay online?

Your manager may help you log in and submit payment using an agreed-upon payment method. Managers are responsible for confirming that player payments are recorded, and players cannot participate until payment is complete.

Can I mail a check for player fees?

SFGSL does not accept checks for individual player fees. Team Sponsor Fees may be accepted by check because sponsors often pay those directly. Online registration ensures that payments, member accounts, and electronic member contracts are properly recorded.

Can my partner and I share an email address?

No. Every member needs a unique, valid email address because it connects the individual to their SFGSL account and electronic Member Contract. Free email accounts are available through providers such as Gmail and Outlook.

Can I pay my fee and my partner's fee in one transaction?

No. Each payment must be completed as a separate transaction under the appropriate member's account. A different person's credit card may be used with their permission.

What do I need to pay for one of my players?

Players must pay during team registration or within 24 hours after a free agent is added to a roster. To assist a player, help them register and submit payment through their own account.

Can a player be added to a roster before paying?

Players invited directly to a team must pay during registration. Free Agents or Team Players who request to join a team have 24 hours after being added to the roster to pay the player fee.

Can someone join my team without manager approval?

No. The team manager must approve anyone requesting to join unless the manager sent the invitation.

How many players can be on a team?

Open Division teams may have up to 18 players, and Women's+ Division teams may have up to 20. Teams must have at least 10 registered players by the registration deadline.

Can I register from a phone or tablet?

Registration may work on a mobile device, but a desktop or laptop computer using a current version of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge is recommended if you experience problems.

Privacy & Security

Will my private information appear on my profile?

Only your About Me information is available to logged-in members viewing your profile. Your email address, mailing address, phone numbers, and date of birth are hidden from members and are available only to authorized SFGSL Board members. Your first name is public, while your last name is visible only to logged-in members.

How can I tell whether a payment page is secure?

Payments are processed through the league's online payment system. Before entering payment information, confirm that:

  1. Your browser displays a lock or site-security icon near the address bar.
  2. The page address begins with https://.
