SFGSL Leagues, Fees & Registration

The San Francisco Gay Softball League is made up of seven divisions across two inclusive leagues.

Open League

Open refers to the SFGSL league that is available to any person.

Women's+ League

Women's+ follows in the footsteps of ASANA (Amateur Sports Alliance of North America), providing an inclusive space for LGBTQ+ cis women, trans men, trans women, and nonbinary people in organized amateur athletics.

Player eligibility: Anyone joining SFGSL must be 18 years old by the first day of the season. All Women's+ League members are eligible to become Dual Members and play in both leagues. Not all Open League members may qualify for the Women's+ League.

Spring Season Fees

Team Fee

$600

Per team. The manager will be invoiced for this fee in addition to their player fee. Teams may self-sponsor or have a sponsor cover the fee. For help finding possible sponsor opportunities, contact Development Director Dawn Dzurilla at sponsorship@sfgsl.org. A sponsor cannot be guaranteed.

Team Volunteer Requirement

$125

Payable only if volunteer hours are not met. Learn more.

Player Fee

$100

Per player; 10 players minimum per team.

Free Agent Fee

For new members or returning members looking for a new team. The player fee will be invoiced once the member is added to a team. Learn more about Free Agents.

Associate Fee

$55

For non-players. Associates may be on a team roster or separate from one. This membership is intended for people who want to be in the dugout—such as non-playing managers and scorekeepers—or non-players who want league membership and voting rights. Associates do not count toward the player roster cap. See how to register as an Associate.

Dual Member Fee

$40

Players in the Women's+ and Open Divisions: Members playing in both leagues are eligible for a dual-player discount.

For an out-of-order registration or retroactive adjustment, contact secretary@sfgsl.org and treasurer@sfgsl.org. Players who use the discount without completing both registrations will receive a corrected invoice for the full player fee.

Limited Player Fee

$45

For members playing in the Women's+ Division with a maximum of five games during the season. Anyone exceeding five games will receive a corrected invoice for the full player fee. During registration, use LIMITED2026W+D for Women's+ D or LIMITED2026W+BC for Women's+ B/C.
